Dr Tim’s life’s purpose is to help patients enjoy the fullness of life for as long as possible. He does this by using a holistic approach that strives to bring the best that conventional and complementary medicine can offer, while avoiding the pitfalls of each.
He received his MBBS degree in the National University of Singapore in 2015 and trained at Tan Tock Seng Hospital where he completed rotations in Internal Medicine, such as Rheumatology and Haematology-Oncology, where he received a post graduate teaching award. He has completed the Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (GDFM) and is one out of two Institute of Functional Medical Certified Practitioners (IFMCP) in Singapore.
Dr. Tim uses a precision approach, which emphasises systematically identifying the root cause(s) of disease. While this may require more history taking and testing, it helps focus the number of interventions while increasing the probability of success. Interventions tend to be lifestyle-first and may include supplements, medications and referrals to other practitioners when essential. The success of interventions are assessed periodically using objective key indicators which are aligned to the patient’s goals.
Dr Tim’s core values are: integrity, deep listening, continuous learning, patient education and open-mindedness. He is often described as candid and down-to-earth. While he is interested in seeing any condition at any age, he is passionate about immunology, mental, gut and hormonal health.
The ideal patient to work with Dr. Tim is someone who understands that health and well-being does not come through quick-fixes but through behavioural modification, experimentation and determination.
